torpedo a Swiss noise-rock/industrial/(post)-punk/psychedelic trio from Lausanne, operates at the intersection of bands like Black Mountain, Pink Floyd, Swans, Merzbow, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. We missed their first album, ‘Sphynx’ when it was released in the spring of 2019.

There was no question of making the same mistake twice when, at the beginning of summer, we received a message from the band introducing their second full-length album. They first shared the music video for the single « Hell » and then the complete album.

The magnetic and hypnotic record, titled ‘Orpheo_ Nebula’ is inspired by the myth of Orpheus. It is structured around six fuzzy-drone and poetic texts that give rise to a hallucinatory seven-part epic, interspersed with noise and spoken-word that is sometimes spat in the listener’s face, sometimes screamed, and even ventures into the confines of grindcore.

The result is a blend of noise-rock, industrial music, and 70s influences, at times flirting with sludge amidst waves of drone. The album was released a few days ago on LP and digital formats via the Broken Clover Records (Enablers, etc.), with support from Araki Records (Bank Myna, ⊙ – L’Effondras, Klymt, still motions…) and Irascible for European distribution. It is available in physical and digital versions, and also for full listening online.
