Let’s be honest — when it comes to the Japanese indie/post-rock/math-whatever scene, we know our way around. The Chinese scene? A little less so. And as for what’s happening in the Philippines… until recently, it was a complete blank for us.
That was the case, at least, until the quartet tide/edit landed on our radar with their outstanding blend of math-pop and instrumental indie rock, at times evoking the legacy of bands such as A Picture of Her, Mouse On The Keys, Tangled Hair, toe, or TTNG.
Formed in 2011, the band already has an impressive five releases under its belt. They debuted with the EP ‘Ideas’ in 2012, followed by the albums ‘Foreign Language’ (2014) and ‘Lightfoot’ (2015). Last year saw the release of the live EP ‘Ideas Live’, and this summer they returned with their latest full-length, ‘All My Friends’, available on CD and digital via the label A Spur Of The Moment Project.
