After discussing it in our digital columns at the end of 2024 (see below…), it seems Steve Von Till has never been more active since going solo, especially following the end of his long-time band Neurosis. Von Till returns this spring with Alone in a World of Wounds, a sensory journey into gothic americana, set for release on May 16 via Neurot Recordings.

A slowly rising sonic mist, a mystic embrace from another world: at the crossroads of earthy harmonies and transcendental melancholy, this new album absorbs the animistic spirit of the natural world to guide us into a profound sonic introspection. Far from the beaten path, Steve Von Till carves a unique groove: one of americana with gothic reflections, woven with hypnotic drones, weary yet lucid vocal lines, and weightless cello arrangements.

Born from spontaneous improvisations and driven by the organic echo of piano, synthesizers, and an unwavering love for ambient music, Steve Von Till’s latest solo album follows the meditative path of No Wilderness Deep Enough (2021), while revealing an even more intimate side of its creator—his voice, laid bare, becomes a true instrument of emotion.

Two first tracks from this new solo album are now available above and just below.
