Oklahoma City’s noise rock/sludge metal outfit Chat Pile has unveiled their full ‘Live at Roadburn 2023′ performance — a document of their most high-profile show to date, just in time for their much-anticipated return to the Netherlands for Roadburn 2025.

Captured during their European debut last year, the band took to the main stage in Tilburg, performing in front of a packed crowd of 3,000 at one of the world’s most revered heavy music festivals. The set, recorded by Roadburn’s in-house team and later remixed by longtime collaborator Jared Stimpfl, distills the raw energy and nervous tension of a career-defining moment.

“While our Roadburn performance wasn’t the most polished, we hope fans will get a kick out of experiencing the nerves and excitement we felt on stage playing in front of the radically largest audience we’d ever played to at that point in the band’s history. It’s a raw chronicling of a very important moment in our lives and we’re very excited to share it with you.” (Stin, Chat Pile)

‘Live at Roadburn’ lands in the midst of an incredibly prolific run for the band. Since 2022, Chat Pile has released two critically acclaimed albums — their breakthrough debut God’s Country’ and 2024’s ferocious follow-up Cool World’ — in addition to a brooding original soundtrack for the independent horror film Tenkiller’. The latter, premiered on Amazon Prime, showcased the band’s cinematic range and is due for a vinyl release via The Flenser in 2025.

The new live album is now streaming on all major digital platforms. A limited-edition vinyl pressing is available exclusively at Roadburn 2025 and through The Flenser’s Subscription Series Seven, with a broader vinyl release expected next year.

As the band prepares to take the Roadburn main stage once again — this time to perform Cool World in full — Live at Roadburn offers a powerful reminder of just how far they’ve come, and how uncompromising their vision remains.
