Aching, ambient, and arresting, ‘What Tomorrow Brings’ marks the 14th full-length effort from Arms and Sleepers—now the solo indie x electronics x trip-hop project of Berlin-based sound architect & producer Mirza Ramic, following years as a duo with his co-conspirators Max Lewis.
Released physically and digitally – like the its 2018 record ‘Find The Right Place’ – via the prolifique German imprint Pelagic Records (Lustmord, Soars, The Ocean…), this album is Ramic’s most personal yet: a meditative reflection on his family’s escape from the Bosnian War and the loss of his father, rendered through lush soundscapes, trip-hop textures, and glitched memory loops.
Structured in four thematic movements—Innocence, Melancholy, Rupture, and Reflection—its 17 tracks blend cinematic ambience with rhythmic undercurrents. Guest vocalists like Sofia Insua (“Belfast”) and YEYEY (“O-R-I-O-N”) lend emotional clarity to a record that drifts between dreamlike detachment and intimate confrontation. Whether it’s the percussive urgency of “Anaconda” or the fragile beauty of “Fathers and Sons,” Ramic creates a sonic world that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant.
Meticulously crafted for fans of and Boards of Canada, Hidden Orchestra, Holy Other, Nils Frahm, Massive Attack, The American Dollar and DJ Shadow, ‘What Tomorrow Brings’ is ultimately a testament to survival, memory, and the quiet strength it takes to move forward.
