If there’s ever a band that can be categorized under « you know where to shove your Brexit, » it’s them. A little over three years after the intense { } released through the defunct label Trepenation Recordings, STILL (post-black-metal/hardcore chaotique/noise/grind/sludge with spontaneous combustion) dropped their second full-length studio album in the fall of 2024, titled A ‘Theft’.

Released through their compatriots at Floodlit Recordings (Pijn), the album is a deep dive into grief and a suffocating, raw catharsis filled with darkness and unrelenting intensity. Rooted in post-black metal, yet far from confined to it, A Theft evolves as an elusive entity, drawing from avant-garde influences like Ulcerate and Amenra.

Where their debut hinted at rare moments of breathing room, this album maintains a constant, unyielding tension, blending darkwave textures with visceral despair.

Produced by Joe Clayton (Pijn, Wallowing), each track on A Theft swells into an overwhelming sonic wave. Both harrowing and captivating, it leaves a permanent mark, inflicting pain, consuming, and ultimately transcending, delivering a merciless vision of grief through the lens of musical extremism.

The result—evoking the sonic detonations of Celeste, Frail Body, Knoll, PLEBEIAN GRANDSTAND, Portrayal Of Guilt, This Gift Is A Curse, and Wiegedood— is now available in physical and digital formats (CD, LP, cassette & digital) [link] and can be streamed in full right below.
