But what if it had become impossible to truly innovate within a genre so thoroughly explored by countless bands before them?

To that question, French band Goodbye Meteor have answered both yes and no. Aware that reinventing the wheel would be presumptuous, they chose instead to embrace the genre’s established codes—not to imitate, but to elevate and imprint them with their own unique signature.

The result is ‘We Could Have Been Radiant’, their debut album—now available on CD, LP, and digital formats via the renowned Belgian label Dunk!records (home to God Is An Astronaut, maybeshewill, Pelican, We Lost The Sea…). The record arrives two years after their promising 2022 EP ‘Metanoia’.

An immersive and emotionally refined post-rock/ambient album, ‘We Could Have Been Radiant’ sits at the crossroads between the delicate intensity of Explosions in the Sky and the cinematic sweep of Mono, with echoes of PILLARS and This Will Destroy You woven throughout.

Available now in both physical and digital editions—right here or over there—and streaming in full just below.
