As we launched Score A/V nearly 10 years ago (yes, almost a full decade already…), we’ve ever been – since then – filling our pages with all kinds of musical discoveries and confirmations—especially throughout the two years that followed.
And yet, we constantly find ourselves missing out on a number of releases, which is exactly why we introduced these “catch-up sessions” that now appear regularly on the site—highlighting standout releases and hidden gems from across the musical spectrum.
One such gem is the English band Mountain Caller, a London-based heavy-prog/post-rock trio who first caught attention with their debut album‘Chronicle I : The Truthseeker’ in 2020 and then the ‘Chronicle : Prologue’ EP the year after. Around twelve months ago, they delivered the next chapter in the saga :‘Chronicle II: Hypergenesis’, released on CD, LP, and digital formats through their prolific compatriots at Church Road Records (Heriot, Palm Reader, Slow Crush, Svalbard…).
A record that continues the narrative arc established from the band’s early days, evoking the atmospheres of acts like Baroness, Elder, Russian Circles, Pelican, or OHHMS. The album is available in both physical and digital formats right here—and can be streamed in full just below.
