A quick flashback to three and a half years ago: it was early December 2018 when we (albeit somewhat late to the party) discovered the American quintet Sunrot, a band blending post-(power)sludge, crust, doom, noise, and metal. Their sound, rooted in the same sphere as influential bands like Neurosis, AmenRa, and Thou, immediately stood out.

Fast forward just under four years, and the New Jersey natives have made significant strides, now signing with the reputable Prosthetic Records (home to An Autumn For Crippled Children, Death Goals, Junius, Pupil Slicer, The Atlas Moth, and more.) This sets the stage for their forthcoming second studio album, about which details remain scarce… for now.

What we do know, however, is that the band is far from slowing down. To offer a taste of what’s to come, Sunrot has released the « 21% » double single. Comprising two tracks, this exclusive digital release dropped earlier this year and is now available for streaming below.
