One of the editorial team’s biggest discoveries in recent months at Score A/V is back—this time with a full-length album under their belt. We’re talking about The Grey the Anglo-Saxon alternative post-metal meets doomy heavy post-rock outfit that had already caught our attention by revealing its dual identity: first through atmospheric instrumental tracks, then through its striking vocal-led work.

The powerful CHVRCH served as an introduction to this trio’s ability to assert its own identity, stepping out from the looming shadows of their contemporaries while standing tall alongside names like Amenra, Neurosis, Pelican, and Red Sparowes, often cited in press materials. Meanwhile, Sharpen the Knife showcased the band’s emotional intensity, amplified by the presence of a high-profile guest.

Now comes the time for a full-length statement. With the release of ‘Kodok’ just a few days ago via Majestic Mountain Records (home of Domkraft, Dirt Forge…), The Grey fully delivers on the promise they’ve shown so far. Available on LP and digital formats, the album confirms the band’s rising stature, placing them somewhere at the intersection of BLACKSHAPE, Bossk, Din of Celestial Birds, Hundred Year Old Man, Pelican or Russian Circles.

The result is an immersive and compelling listen—available in both beautifully crafted physical editions and digital formats—and is streaming in full just below.
