Originally formed as a post-rock duo featuring Thomas Brenneman (of El West) and Chris Julian (formerly of Greeley Estates)—under which they released two notable singles in 2019 (« Where You Found Me » et « Through Doubts Comes Clarity »)—still motions has since evolved into a quartet with the addition of two new members. The Phoenix-based band recently released their debut full-length album Mirrors, out now on CD and digital via POST. RECORDINGS and Araki Records.

Anchored in the slow-building tension and emotional clarity characteristic of bands like This Will Destroy You, Caspian, Tides of Man, and Explosions in the Sky, Mirrors delivers a compelling blend of instrumental moodiness and melodic boldness. The album closes with its title track—an eloquent and expressive piece that brings the debut to an electrifying conclusion. Clocking in at six and a half minutes, it encapsulates the band’s ability to evolve contrasting emotions with restraint, avoiding the genre’s usual clichés while signaling the arrival of a promising new voice in the post-rock landscape.

The album is available in both physical (CD/LP) and digital formats and can be streamed in full below.
