Bettmümpfeli’ : A daring, meditative second chapter for a band unafraid to carve its own path.

Swiss duo Bunkr returns with ‘Bettmümpfeli’, their much-anticipated second album — an immersive, richly textured work that pushes the boundaries of instrumental rock. Named after the Swiss-German word for a small treat before bedtime, ‘Bettmümpfeli’ lives up to its name: intimate yet expansive, refined yet unpredictable — a musical indulgence best enjoyed slowly and repeatedly.

Introducing newcomer : Bunkr

Formed in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Bunkr (Kevin Udry on guitar and Iannis Valvini on drums) draws inspiration from the jagged intricacies of Don Caballero, the brooding minimalism of Slint, the genre-bending sophistication of BadBadNotGood, and some heavy desert grooves of Kyuss. The result is a sound both cerebral and visceral, weaving post-rock, jazz-inflected rhythms, and stoner rock sensibilities into a cohesive, cinematic whole.

Each track is meticulously constructed, oscillating between raw intensity and quiet introspection — with moments that feel both tightly composed and organically free. Tracks like « Ma foi tant pis », « Passerelle », and « Lavabo » are more than just titles — they’re moods, stories, fragments of a larger emotional landscape.

Behind the album is a tightly knit creative process. Kevin Galland captures the band’s sonic vision with pristine clarity and dynamic balance in the recording and mix. Julian Sartorius lends his compositional insight, helping shape the duo’s evolving sound. And Cold Smoke Records, ever loyal, returns to support the band’s second release with their trademark taste and integrity.

‘Bettmümpfeli’ is a rare kind of instrumental album: one that doesn’t just impress — it lingers. It invites listeners to lose track of time, to fall into its textures and re-emerge changed.

Available right now on both LP & Digital formats via Cold Smoke Records (Hey Satan, K Ø D E, Oregon Trail, Six Months Of Sun…) and full-streaming below.
