48 Hours Before Release: Bunkr Premieres Full Debut Album ‘Schluss’
As announced a few weeks ago, here it is.
With just 48 hours to go before the official release of their debut album ‘Schluss’ — out March 29 in CD, LP, and digital formats via Swiss labels Cold Smoke Records (Hey Satan, K Ø D E, Oregon Trail, Six Months Of Sun,,…) & Division Records (Closet Disco Queen, Dirge, Kehlvin, Unfold, etc.), the two irreverent figures of the Swiss math-rock/noise scene known as Bunkr are now offering an exclusive early stream of the full album, available below.
To get the album – evolving around the corner between bands such as Don Caballero, Slint, BadBadNotGood, and Kyuss – in physical or digital format, head over to the webshops of either label, or visit the band’s Bandcamp.
The style is pretty hard to pin down, but the album is built on a strong math-rock foundation, layered with sharp-edged noise rock textures, the deep hum of stoner rock, and a dash of psychedelic influence.”
“We try to embody a certain eclecticism,” they say — unapologetically drawing inspiration from techno, JAAAZZZZZ, and hardcore D-beat alike. As a result, Schluss unfolds across multiple musical dimensions, rhythmically playing with odd time signatures in addition to the classic 4/4, crafting hypnotic and off-kilter grooves.
The final product is a 45-minute sonic fresco that may evoke impressionist or pointillist paintings — though, as the band puts it, none of that really matters “as long as it makes you want to bang your head.””
