The Italian hardcore scene has been thriving for quite some time now, and it’s something we’ve long recognized in the editorial team.
Bands like Metide, Naat, Noise Trail Immersion, O, Postvorta, Rise Above Dead or WOWS have all contributed to its dynamic and prolific nature. LACITTÀDOLENTE, a mathcore/hardcore/metal quartet from Milan, is yet another compelling addition to this vibrant movement, drawing clear influence from acts such as Botch, Converge, and Code Orange.
A bit of background: the band released a debut EP titled ‘Opportunist’ just over a year ago, which has since seemingly vanished from the digital landscape — likely a strategic move to mark a new creative chapter. That fresh momentum is now materializing with the release of ‘Venal’, a brand-new single unveiled a few days ago on Bandcamp (and available for streaming below).
The track, which is also available as a free download on the platform, offers a first glimpse into the band’s upcoming debut studio album, Salespeople. The record is set for official release on September 18, in CD and digital formats through Fresh Outbreak Records, Hidden Beauty Records, Mother Ship, SHOVE records, Toten Schwan Records & Violence In The Veins ; and tape via Trepanation Recordings.
