Ender — The echo of early 2000s emo/post-hardcore, reimagined for a world on edge.
Introducing ENDER : a « new » band, born in September 2022 from the creative minds of two French musicians : Timothée Froger (Sorcerer) and Olivier Guinot (Lodges), as a project rooted in nostalgia yet firmly focused on the present.
Drawing from the visceral energy and emotional depth of early 2000s bands like Glassjaw, Hopesfall, Poison the Well, Finch, Deftones, and Team Sleep, ENDER aims not to imitate, but to resurrect the spirit of a musical era where melancholy and hope were inseparable.
Their debut EP, ‘South of the Border / West of the Sun’, is a six-track exploration of modern malaise. From the post-hardcore pulse of “Karoshi”, to the explosive energy of “Claymore”, and the haunting, trip-hop-infused textures of “Cursed Queen”, the EP is a visceral ride through anxiety, depression, burnout, and the disillusionment of modern life.
Released on CD, cassette, and digital via Bustin Heads Records and Frozen Records, the EP is an unflinching exploration of modern mental health—anxiety, depression, burnout, and the quiet despair of chasing hollow ideals. At once a critique of the capitalist grind and a cathartic release for those trapped within it, it doesn’t just revisit a sound—it captures a feeling: catharsis in chaos, melancholy as resistance.
ENDER is not just a band—it’s a reflection of a world unraveling, and the soundtrack to those fighting to hold on.
