Converge & Coalesce Unearth Historic 1996 Set with Live at CBGBs — A Powerful Tribute to the Late Rich Hall

2 titans of heavy music, Converge and Coalesce, have released Live at CBGBs — a newly mastered recording of their blistering 1996 performance at the legendary New York City venue. Capturing the bands at their rawest and most uncompromising, this release is both a time capsule and a tribute.

Live at CBGBs is more than just a live album — it’s a heartfelt homage to Rich Hall, the late NYC promoter, visual artist, and passionate advocate for the underground music community, who tragically passed away earlier this year. Hall was instrumental in bringing both bands to New York audiences in their formative years, leaving a profound impact on the scene that continues to resonate today.

In a joint statement, Converge and Coalesce shared:

“This is a tribute to our friend Rich Hall, who introduced our bands to New York City in the early days. We will never forget the profound impact he had on all of us in the underground music community.”

Available now on digital & 2xLP edition via Deathwish Inc. (Blacklisted, Modern Life Is War, THE HOPE CONSPIRACY…), ‘Live at CBGBs’ is available for entire streaming below.

All proceeds from this release will go to the Hall family — in perpetuity.
