After pushing the boundaries of mathcore and hardcore, splintering genres, and reshaping a generation of heavy music, Botch has officially taken their final bow. On June 15, 2024—exactly 22 years to the day after their original farewell at Seattle’s Showbox—the iconic mathcore pioneers played their last-ever show.
Now, that moment is forever captured in ‘061524’, a blistering live album and full-length concert film released via Sargent House (Chelsea Wolfe, Emma Ruth Rundle, Russian Circles, The Armed…) on June 27, 2025.
Mixed by longtime producer Matt Bayles and mastered by Ed Brooks, ‘061524′ isn’t just a send-off—it’s a final, definitive roar. Fan favorites like « To Our Friends in the Great White North » and « Transitions from Persona to Object » strike with renewed ferocity, while rare deep cuts like « Afghamistam » and « Oma » are delivered with the precision of a band at its peak—not on its way out
The release follows a limited run of shows that saw Botch return for the first time in over two decades.
« There’s no more music for Botch on the horizon; we’re doing these shows, and then it’s done […] it’s going to happen for a very finite amount of time. » (Dave Knudson)
True to their word, Botch embarked on a final 14-date UK/EU tour in March 2024, followed by their only Australian tour in May, and culminated with that unforgettable June night in Seattle.
From their Hydra Head classics like ‘We Are the Romans’ to their genre-defining influence on everything from metalcore to post-rock, Botch was always more than a band—they were a movement. They called it “evil math rock” when no genre could contain them. And now, ‘061524’ is their epitaph: loud, uncompromising, and utterly essential.
This is the end. Witness it.
