Extreme progressive metal meets cinematic science-fiction collapse.

For more than a decade, French modern/progressive djent metal outfit BUY JUPITER has been building an ambitious science-fiction universe inspired by Isaac Asimov’s short story of the same name. Through the trilogy Departure (2016), Crossworlds (2017) and Eclipse (2019), the band developed a conceptual narrative blending dense modern extremity, immersive atmospheres and progressive storytelling.

Now, the next chapter begins.

Ahead of the release of their upcoming album ‘EARTH’ – to be released this month – BUY JUPITER unveils three first excerpts from the record : “Embrace Of The Serpent God”, “The Wake” and “Surge”. Together, these tracks offer a first glimpse into what already feels like the band’s most accomplished and expansive material to date.

Musically, BUY JUPITER continues refining a sound balancing crushing rhythmic precision, cinematic atmospheres and progressive extremity. Fans of Meshuggah, Lamb Of God, Between The Buried And Me, Textures or Vildjartha will recognize familiar elements, yet the band increasingly shapes those influences into a distinct identity of its own.

“Embrace Of The Serpent God” unfolds through oppressive tension and ritualistic heaviness, while “The Wake” dives into darker and more introspective territory driven by expansive dynamics and emotional layering. “Surge”, meanwhile, delivers the most immediate impact of the three — a collision of groove, technical aggression and relentless momentum built for the stage.

Beyond the music itself, BUY JUPITER continues to expand the conceptual scope surrounding ‘EARTH’. The album represents the culmination of a decade-long narrative arc chronicling the return of Jovian exiles to Earth and the conflict emerging around humanity’s future. Each track is also paired with an original short story published through the band’s platforms, extending the project into a broader multimedia universe.
