Belgian alt-rock/shoegaze grunge four piece Slow Crush returns with a seismic new single, “Cherry,” marking their first release in nearly four years and their debut with U.S. indie powerhouse Pure Noise Records ; which already reissued last year the band’s first full-length effort ‘Aurora’. The track doesn’t just reintroduce the band—it redefines them.

Described by the group as a wistful longing for something fresh and new « Cherry«  is a storm-laced, emotionally charged anthem that encapsulates the turbulence and transformation the band has undergone. Sonically rich and emotionally piercing, it feels like both a climax and a beginning—a fitting lead single for what promises to be their most personal album yet.

Still led by the ethereal vocals of Isa Holliday, with Jelle Harde and Frederik Meeuwis anchoring the project’s thick, immersive soundscapes, Slow Crush channels the heart of grunge and the haze of shoegaze into something uniquely theirs. The single’s accompanying music video reinforces its themes of rebirth and catharsis, visually echoing the lyric: “Shed your skin.”

Having previously built a strong foundation with critically praised albums ‘Aurora’ (2018) and ‘Hush’ (2021), and after years of extensive international touring, the band found themselves at a crossroads. But « Cherry » emerges as both a product and proof of their resilience.

“Many times we came close to losing our minds, ready to give up on this wild dream of a band,” (Slow Crush).

With a new album slated for later this year – via Pure Noise Records (Drug Church, Knocked Loose, Samiam, Year Of The Knife) – « Cherry » is more than a single—it’s a statement. Raw, reflective, and radiant, it captures a band not only surviving but surging into a new era.
