We hadn’t heard any new material from London’s Wren (dark-sludge/post-metal meets noise-rock) since their EP ‘Thrall’, released in summer 2018. A reasonable gap for 99% of today’s bands—but not for Wren, who have built an impressive catalog since their inception: eight releases across all formats in just over five years.

So it’s no surprise to see them return to the studio this year with a new full-lengh album ‘GROUNDSWELL’, out on CD, LP, and digital via their fellow Londoners at Gizeh Records (which also released ‘Thrall’ BTW).

Wren Unleash Thrall: A 20-Minute Monolith of Dark Sludge and Post-Metal

This record marks the third full chapter in the sonic exploration the band began with ‘Auburn Rule’ (2017, Holy Roar) and continued with ‘Thrall’. Available in both physical and digital formats, you can also listen to the album in full right here.
